Beer Beer Beer!

I have updated our beer map! Finally. I may have a couple more to go but it’s pretty accurate. The easiest way to see them all is to click on the small square top left of the map.

I have had either a “flight” (which is what we know as a tasting paddle) at each of these or at least a beer or 3. I’m a certified beer pilot taking flights everywhere.

They are so bloody cheap, average around $8 for anywhere from 4 – 8 tasters. Great way to try some brews. Current estimate is I am up to 60 beers tasted, give or take a few. My Untappd app is awarding me badges constantly!

Here are some images of various flights;

And I’m already a legend,

Now this last one was (surprisingly) amazing. We went to Base Camp Brewing which had an event on so I couldn’t get a flight, but I’ll be back for one, so I had two distinct beers. One was recommended as their “special”. It’s called Smore Stout here is the description;

“IBUs: 70 SRM: 55.2 OG/TG: 19.2/5.3°P ABV: 7.7%

The S’more Stout is an absolute all-star: Aromas of chocolate, coffee, fig, and smoke invite you in to a gigantic maltiness that is distinct in its smooth and refined character, with flavors of chocolate and hints of smoke mingling with rich caramel, fruit, and warming alcohol. Top with a roasted marshmallow and you have the ultimate S’more experience!”

Yep topped with a scorched marshmallow that you dip in the beer and eat. And it was awesome!! That’s it on the left there,

The other one was a Celestial Meridian Cascadian Dark Lager, which in itself was very yummy.

Did I mention everywhere has beer? From the corner store to pizza shops to supermarkets to the barber shop. Yep the barber shop. We found this place, Throne which will cut your hair and give you a shave while you have a beer or whiskey. Now even though I haven’t seen the inside of a barber shop for a number of years I wanted to try this. So i let my whiskers grow and my flowing locks attempt a comeback, and availed myself of their services on my birthday. Didn’t have a beer though! Was to early in the morning, but the thought was there.

I did enjoy the shave.

So off today to try a few more beers, of course, going up to Rogue for a look. Stay tuned.
